Last updated: 22 August 2026
Telegraph Express (“Telegraph”, “we”, “us”, “our”) operates telegraphex.com and provides domestic and international shipping, customs clearance, warehousing and fulfilment, and cash-on-delivery collection. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you.
We process personal data in line with Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020). Where we handle the data of individuals in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we also apply the standards of the GDPR.

1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Contact details — name, email address, phone number.
- Shipment details — pickup and delivery addresses, recipient name and phone number, a description of package contents, and declared value.
- Merchant account details — business name, tax registration details, and the bank account or wallet used to settle cash-on-delivery proceeds.
- Correspondence — messages you send us by email, WhatsApp, phone, or a form on this site.
Information collected automatically
- Device and connection data — IP address, browser type, operating system, screen size, and language preference.
- Usage data — pages viewed, links clicked, the page that referred you, time spent on the site, and an approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Cookies and similar identifiers — described in section 2.
Information from other sources
- Delivery partners and international agents who update the status of a shipment.
- Payment providers confirming that a settlement has been made.
- E-commerce platforms such as Shopify or WooCommerce, when a merchant connects their store to our API.
2. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our partners use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies for three purposes:
- Strictly necessary — language preference, session state, and security. The site cannot function properly without these.
- Analytics — understanding how visitors find and use the site so we can improve it.
- Advertising — measuring the effectiveness of our campaigns and showing relevant ads on other platforms.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site from working.
3. Analytics and Advertising Partners
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to understand how visitors use our site. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects your IP address, device information, and the pages you view. This information is transmitted to and stored by Google.
For more detail see the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Google advertising
Where we advertise through Google, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site. You can review and turn off personalised advertising in Google Ad Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at optout.aboutads.info.
Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
We may use the Meta Pixel and related Meta business tools to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to reach people who have visited our site. These tools can share information such as your IP address, the pages you viewed, and the actions you took with Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, which may combine it with data it already holds about you.
See the Meta Privacy Policy and the Meta Cookie Policy for details, and manage what you see in Meta Ad Preferences.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. How We Use Your Information
- Providing our services — arranging pickup, transport, customs clearance and delivery, and collecting and settling cash-on-delivery amounts.
- Communicating with you — shipment notifications, service updates, and replies to your enquiries.
- Accounts and integrations — creating and administering merchant accounts and API access.
- Improving what we do — analysing usage to improve the website, our delivery routes, and service quality.
- Marketing — sending offers and updates where you have consented or as otherwise permitted by law.
- Legal and security — meeting customs, tax and other legal obligations, preventing fraud, and protecting our rights and our customers.
5. Legal Basis for Processing
- Performance of a contract — to carry and deliver the shipments you or a merchant asked us to handle.
- Consent — for analytics and advertising cookies and for marketing messages, where consent is required.
- Legitimate interests — keeping our services secure, preventing fraud, and improving our offering.
- Legal obligation — customs declarations, tax records, and responding to lawful requests.
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew it.
6. How We Share Your Information
- Delivery personnel and courier partners — the details needed to complete a delivery.
- International agents and customs authorities — for cross-border shipments, as required to clear and deliver them.
- Merchants — where we deliver on a merchant's behalf, we share delivery status and outcome with that merchant.
- Service providers — hosting, analytics, communications, and payment providers, under contract and only for the purposes we specify.
- Authorities — where required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Telegraph, our customers, or others.
- Business transfers — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users.
7. International Data Transfers
International shipments necessarily involve sharing recipient details with agents and customs authorities in the destination country. Some of our service providers — including Google, Meta, and our hosting provider — process data outside Egypt. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection through contractual safeguards.
8. Data Retention
We keep shipment records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, tax, and customs obligations — generally five years under Egyptian law. Merchant account data is kept while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards. Analytics data is retained according to the provider's settings; Google Analytics 4 currently retains event data for 14 months. When data is no longer needed we delete or anonymise it.
9. Data Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and restricting staff access to those who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach occurs that materially affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Request erasure of your data where there is no continuing reason for us to keep it.
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing — including direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent you previously gave.
- Receive a copy of data you provided in a portable format.
- Complain to the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Centre, or your local supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these, email Help@telegraphex.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will respond within the period required by law.
11. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Third-Party Links
This site links to services we do not control, including our customer portal and our social media pages. This policy does not cover those services, and we encourage you to read their own privacy policies.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top will change, and if a change materially affects how we use your data we will make that clear on this page.
